HDR As I drive through Jacksonville I find some unusual photo ops. For the downtown captures Yes it was chilly and crisp and it is winter so the days are short and sunsets comes early so I am able to get home early. I did it as an experimentation trip. One to check out that new app that shows the azimuth of the setting sun and it was right on. I Google mapped downtown and i looked at the azimuth of the setting sun at the correct angle to the bridge to get the sunset just right. Had some dinner on the way then drove directly to that spot got set up and started capturing the moment. The weather guys have web cams set up down town and are always showing great sunsets. So yesterday I checked the cloud cover on my weather app looked good so I went for it. One lesson learned to take night shots with little noise use a high f stop. Look at live view while setting the f stop up and down the lower the number the more noise also I used ISO 100 only. It takes longer to capture but worth it in post screen processing. And yes HDR so three captures for each photo, nice thing is you can process just one photo at a time like the old days with film where you would set up and do one or two stops up/down of the same shot just to get it right! I know there is a little to much color but it was experimentation have to work on it. I see these shots like these on the internet and never ever believed it would be possible to do capturing that would ever even come close to those but like all photographers are like scientists experimenting always.
